Inflatable boats
An inflatable boat does not have a fixed, rigid hull. The boat is either fully inflatable or has a removable, roll-up or inflatable floor. When deflated, it fits in the boot or a storage box, making it suitable as a dinghy or for taking on holiday.

Questions about inflatable boats
Question not listed? Our advice articles go deeper into buying, insurance and maintenance.
To Advice →Which type of soil is best?
An inflatable floor (airdeck) is lightweight and quick to set up. A wooden or aluminium floor is stiffer, which means the inflatable boat handles better when fitted with a slightly heavier engine. It depends on how often you set up and use the boat.
Which engine is suitable for an inflatable boat?
The maximum permitted power is stated on the CE label. On Water&Wind, we list this under the specifications. This is often a small outboard engine or an electric motor with a power output of up to approximately 10 hp.
How long does an inflatable boat last?
How long an inflatable boat lasts depends mainly on the type of material, how often you use it and how much time it spends in the water. If you store your inflatable boat in a clean, dry place, avoid leaving it out in direct sunlight unnecessarily and don’t leave it in the water for the whole season, your inflatable boat will last for years.
