Getting a boating licenceSmall craft licence I for a boat of 15 to 25 metres, or a shorter motor boat that can go faster than 20 km/h, on rivers, canals and lakes. Small craft licence II for the same boats, also on waters such as the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea. Large pleasure craft licence II for boats of 25 to 40 metres.
Registering a fast motor boat (RDW)A fast motor boat (shorter than 20 m and faster than 20 km/h) must be registered with the RDW on almost all Dutch inland waters.
VHF radio on boardTo use a marine VHF radio you need a certificate and a registration.
