The hull, transom and bottom are made of fibreglass. The hull is a stepped planing hull, a redesigned planing boat that maintains a smaller wetted surface area at high speeds. The tubes are made of Orca 866 Hypalon neoprene 1670.
The overall length is 15.60 metres and the CE hull length is 15.05 metres, with a beam of 4.80 metres. Salpa states that the unladen weight, excluding engines, is 11,600 kilograms.
The power output is 1,800 hp, which is both the recommended and maximum figure. The fuel tank holds 1,850 litres, the water tank 430 litres, and there is also a 40-litre boiler, making the range more than sufficient for multi-day trips.
The layout comprises two cabins plus a crew quarters. This makes the Soleil 52 a fully-fledged RIB-style accommodation vessel, with the manoeuvrability and reserve buoyancy provided by the tubes.
