The hull has aluminium plating of 5 to 12 mm, generously dimensioned for impact resistance, with watertight bulkheads forward and aft. The propeller shaft lies in a protective fin and the twin rudders have a composite breakaway zone. The fully retractable centreboard reduces the draught from 3.65 to 1.50 metres.
The sheltered steering station is located under a fixed bimini that can be closed off with a cover. There is also a separate manoeuvring cockpit with lines led aft, so that even a small crew can sail the vessel. Hydraulic systems take over the heavy work of sail and line handling.
Inside are an enclosed navigation station at the front of the saloon with 270-degree visibility, a large galley, an owner's suite with bathroom, guest cabins, a crew cabin, a laundry room and a workshop. There are 2 to 4 cabins, 74 mm hull insulation, double glazing and central heating from a diesel boiler.
The soundproofed engine room houses a 182 hp diesel. On board are tanks for 2,500 litres of diesel and 800 litres of water, plus a watermaker. Key dimensions: hull length 18.27 m, beam 5.40 m, draught 1.50 to 3.65 m, displacement 35 tonnes, ballast 9.65 tonnes and 168.4 m² of sail upwind.
