About Garcia

Aluminium sailing yachts for those who want to go beyond the beaten track.

Garcia Yachting was founded in 1974 by the brothers Jean-Louis and Jean-Pierre Garcia, who started out as metalworkers building steel boats and later switched to aluminium. Among other things, the yard built an IMOCA 60 for Jean-Luc Van den Heede, who finished third in the Vendée Globe in 1989. The brothers retired in 2006.

Since 2010 Garcia has been part of the Grand Large Yachting group, together with Allures and Outremer, among others. The current range consists of the Exploration 45, 52 and 60, aluminium bluewater yachts with an integral centreboard, and the Explocat 52, an aluminium expedition catamaran. The Exploration 45 was developed with Jimmy Cornell; the designs are by Berret-Racoupeau. Through Grand Large Services, the yard also offers maintenance, refits and training.
