About Nautor Swan

A Finnish builder of sailing yachts featuring designs by German Frers.

Nautor Swan is a Finnish yacht yard, founded in 1966 in Pietarsaari by Pekka Koskenkyla. According to the company’s own figures, the yard has since built more than 2,350 yachts, starting with the Swan 36, the first model with a fibreglass hull. The first thousand or so Swans were designed by Sparkman and Stephens; subsequently, the Argentine designer German Frers became the in-house architect, and he still designs the hulls to this day. All production takes place at a single site in Pietarsaari, where the design department and the builders work side by side. Since August 2024, Nautor Swan has been part of the Italian Sanlorenzo Group.

The range is divided into four lines. The Swan series comprises models such as the Swan 51, 55, 58, 65 and 73; the Swan Maxi range extends from the Swan 80 to the Swan 128; and the ClubSwan series is the sporty branch, including the ClubSwan 28, 36, 43 and 50. In addition, under the name Swan Shadow, the yard builds motor yachts designed to serve as tenders for large sailing yachts. The boats range in length from approximately 28 to 131 feet. They are intended for owners who wish to combine longer cruises with racing.
