Air draft under 2.5 m
This selection shows motor boats with an air draft of less than 2.5 metres, and boats where air draft is not a direct factor, such as RIBs and console boats. This is useful for making the right choice on inland waterways with (fixed) bridges: you can pass through more quickly without having to take a detour or wait for a bridge to open. The air draft is the height above the waterline, often with the hood or windscreen lowered; check with the yard to find out how it was measured.

How is the air draft measured?
From the waterline to the highest fixed point on the boat. Manufacturers sometimes state this measurement with the canopy, windscreen or mast lowered. Check with the yard to find out how it was measured.
My favourite boat is just a bit too high. What should I do now?
Check with the manufacturer to see if a folding hood, mast or radar bracket is available. Dutch yards, in particular, offer options to significantly reduce the air draft.
Which boats have a low air draft?
Mainly open boats such as power sloops, tender sloops and console boats, and motor cruisers with a folding wheelhouse roof, windscreen or mast. Check on the model page whether the air draft is given with the folding parts up or down.
