About this boat
The Windelo 54 has been designed for round-the-world voyages. The yard has combined a sailing catamaran with electric propulsion and its own power generation system, enabling the boat to remain self-sufficient for long periods. The boat measures 16.24 metres in length and 7.98 metres in beam. The centreboards provide a draught of between 1.05 and 2.35 metres.

The layout comprises a maximum of four cabins plus a skipper’s cabin. It has CE design category A certification for twelve people.
The sloop carries a mainsail of 99 square metres and a headsail of 45 square metres, totalling 199 square metres when sailing close-hauled. With the 190-square-metre gennaker, the total easily exceeds 289 square metres.
Two electric motors, each rated at 20 kilowatts, propel the boat via a propeller shaft. The battery bank has a capacity of 1,120 ampere-hours at 48 volts, or 53.8 kilowatt-hours, and a 17.9-kilowatt generator tops it up from a 500-litre tank. Solar panels, a wind turbine and hydroelectric generation provide the rest.
The kerb weight is 12.8 tonnes. The fresh water tank holds 400 litres and the holding tank 200 litres. In addition to the Adventure and Yachting models, there is a Sport version, which the yard refers to as the 55 Sport.
