The boat measures 15.24 metres in length and 7.95 metres in beam. Two centreboards allow the draught to vary between 1.03 and 2.32 metres. The layout comprises up to four cabins plus a skipper’s cabin. It has Category A CE certification for up to twelve people.
The sail plan is a sloop rig with a mainsail of 92 square metres and a headsail of 43 square metres, totalling 184 square metres when sailing close-hauled. For broad reaches, there is a gennaker of 161 square metres, bringing the total to 253 square metres.
The propulsion system consists of two electric motors, each rated at 20 kilowatts. The battery bank has a capacity of 1,120 ampere-hours at 48 volts, or 53.8 kilowatt-hours. A 17.9-kilowatt generator tops up the battery, fuelled by a 500-litre tank. In addition, the boat generates electricity using solar panels, a wind turbine and hydro-generation whilst sailing.
The kerb weight is 11.2 tonnes. The fresh water tank holds 400 litres and the holding tank 200 litres. The model is available in the Adventure, Yachting and Sport variants, with the Sport version referred to as the 51 Sport on the manufacturer’s website.
