Full description
The hull is 11.98 metres long, with an overall length of 12.80 metres and a beam of 3.75 metres. Its displacement is approximately 4 tonnes. With the sterndrive raised, the vessel has a draught of 0.50 metres; whilst underway, this increases to 0.70 metres.
The propulsion system consists of a Yanmar diesel engine with sterndrive, delivering 150 hp as standard, with optional outputs of 195 hp and 250 hp. The yard quotes provisional figures of 12 to 15 knots cruising speed and 19 to 25 knots top speed, depending on the engine, and a range of over 500 nautical miles. The fuel tank holds 480 litres and the water tank 285 litres.
The Loxo 40 is classified as CE design category B and has four to six berths in two cabins. It has a fully equipped galley and a shower.
The vessel has both an inboard steering position and a raised outboard steering position, and is fitted with buoyancy aids. The retractable sterndrive makes navigating in shallow water and carrying out maintenance on the propeller easier.
