Fuel-efficient French motor boats from the Breton yard Structures.
Loxo is the motorboat range from the Breton shipyard Structures, which began in Quimper in 1987 and moved to Combrit Sainte-Marine in 1990. The same yard builds the Pogo brand of sailing yachts and employs over ninety skilled craftsmen across a site of nearly seven thousand square metres. Since 2004, the hulls have been laminated using vacuum infusion. The name Loxo was introduced when the yard unveiled its first motor boat, and these boats build on the principles of the sailing range: lightweight construction, a sleek underwater hull and requiring as little power as possible to cruise smoothly.
The range extends from the Loxo 30 Open via the Loxo 32 to the Loxo 40, with hull lengths of approximately 9.5 to 12.8 metres. The Loxo 32 weighs around 1,650 kilograms when empty, has a cruising speed of ten to twelve knots and, according to the yard, consumes about half a litre per nautical mile; versions are available with inboard engines, outboard engines and electric propulsion. The Loxo 40 has a sterndrive of 150 to 250 hp and reaches speeds of nineteen to twenty-five knots. The boats are aimed at boaters who wish to cover long distances along the coast whilst using little fuel and with a shallow draught.
