The Hobie 14 is a recognised World Sailing (formerly ISAF) international class. European and world championships are held regularly, so in addition to recreational sailing, owners can also take part in an active racing class.
As standard, the boat is sailed with a mainsail only. The Turbo version adds a furling jib and a trapeze, allowing the crew to get more power and speed out of the boat. The hulls are built from fibreglass with a foam core.
The mainsail measures 10.46 m² and the optional jib 3.20 m². The mast is 6.78 metres long. With a weight of 109 kg and a load capacity of 160 kg, the Hobie 14 is a light and agile boat that is launched from the beach.
Key dimensions: length 4.27 m, beam 2.34 m, weight 109 kg, load capacity 160 kg, mast length 6.78 m and a sail area of 10.46 m² (13.66 m² with optional jib). The Hobie 14 has no engine and is intended for one or two sailors, either recreationally or in the international class.
