About this boat
The Hobie Getaway is the catamaran for getting out on the water with a group. Hobie positions it as a boat for sociable days on the water, but thanks to the symmetrical hulls, the powerful mainsail and the roller-furling jib, it sails noticeably better than the average party boat.

The large trampoline between the hulls offers room for several people to sit or relax. In Europe the boat is approved for three to four people with a load capacity of 300 kg; in the United States a higher load applies.
The hulls are made of rotomoulded polyethylene, which according to Hobie is impact-resistant and lasts for years. This means the Getaway can take a knock when landing on the beach, and according to the yard it offers a lot of value for money.
The rig consists of a mainsail with a roller-furling jib, together providing 17 m² of sail area, on a 7.62-metre mast. With the rudder raised, the boat draws only 25 cm, so landing on the beach remains easy. Assembly and rigging are also designed so that a group can get out on the water quickly.
Key dimensions: length 5.18 m, beam 2.34 m, weight 176 kg, draught with rudder raised 0.25 m, mast length 7.62 m and a total sail area of 17 m². The Getaway has no engine and in Europe is approved for three to four people with a combined maximum of 300 kg.
