The Oceanis 42 is the successor to the Oceanis 40.1 and represents a more refined, more customisable generation, offering a choice of five layouts. The design is by Marc Lombard Yacht Design (shipbuilding) and NAUTA Design (exterior and interior). The aft deck is remarkably versatile: in the open configuration, the platform forms a natural extension of the cockpit, whilst the enclosed version with rear benches provides a safer space for additional guests. The helms are fitted with integrated seating, ergonomic consoles and throttle levers, making every manoeuvre feel intuitive.
The interior emphasises natural light and space with a contemporary feel. There is a choice of three finishes: Ivory (classic), Sunset (warm) and Pacific (fresh). Sand-coloured oak adds a warm, modern touch, finished with 2 mm wooden edging for a neat appearance. A full-size desk overlooks the cabin, and the electrical controls are neatly housed in a cupboard by the stairs. The galley is available in an L-shape or a linear layout.
With five layout options, 2 to 4 cabins, a larger sail area (the furling mast is 60 cm taller, the classic and performance masts 30 cm) and, at 215 litres, the largest fridge capacity in the 40-footer segment, the Oceanis 42 is exceptionally versatile. Length 12.86 m, beam 4.23 m, engine 1×45 hp, 195 litres of fuel and 235 litres of water. All on-board systems can be monitored remotely using the Seanapps app.
