About this boat
The Astus 20.5 is a trailable trimaran with a small cabin, designed for sailors who want to combine speed with the freedom to move the boat from one body of water to another. The yard describes the concept as a response to the demand for fast, nomadic boats.

The central hull is 5.95 metres long and the overall length is 7.00 metres, with floats measuring 5.90 metres. When extended, the boat is 4.50 metres wide; when retracted, it is 2.48 metres wide, which means it remains within the legal road width limit. The unladen weight is 470 kilograms for a vacuum-infused central hull and 490 kilograms for a contact-laminated hull. The draught ranges from 0.25 metres to 1.25 metres thanks to a folding centreboard and rudder. The trampolines cover 8.50 square metres and each float has a volume of 930 litres.
The mast is 8.00 metres long. Upwind, the boat carries 21 square metres of sail; in the sport version, this is 24 square metres; downwind with a gennaker, the figures are 34 and 42 square metres respectively. The maximum auxiliary engine power is 4.5 kilowatts, or 6 hp.
The 20.5 is CE-certified in design category C for 5 people and design category D for 7 people. It was designed by VPLP Design based on a concept by Jean-Hubert Pommois. The yard is supplying, amongst other things, a mast-raising cradle, a launching trolley, a swim ladder and an engine bracket.
