About this boat
The RS 2000 is a two-person dinghy designed by Phil Morrison, which is presented by RS Sailing as the bridge between learning to sail and competitive sailing. The model is used by both sailing schools and club sailors. The boat is 4.40 metres long and 1.80 metres wide.

The hull is constructed from resin-infused fibreglass composite, weighs 124 kilograms unladen and 200 kilograms ready to sail. In racing conditions, the boat is crewed by two people; during training sessions, it can carry up to four people on board.
There is no propulsion engine; the boat is powered solely by sail. The mainsail measures 8.66 square metres and is available in a racing version and a version for sailing schools, with a jib measuring 3.04 square metres and an asymmetrical spinnaker measuring 10.12 square metres.
