The spacious, open cockpit makes boarding easy for the whole crew, including young sailors. There is a double bench seat and plenty of interior space, so the boat remains comfortable with several people on board. It sails well with two, three or more people.
The equipment includes a furling jib, a double trapeze, Harken blocks and a pivoting stainless steel centreboard for extra stability. According to Hobie, the boat responds instantly to the helm, yet is also forgiving for those still learning to sail.
The mainsail measures 11 m² and the jib 4 m², 15 m² in total. Downwind, a 17 m² spinnaker is added. The hull is made of fibreglass and the boat is available in white. With a load capacity of 725 kg, there is plenty of room for a full crew.
Key dimensions: length 5.60 m, beam 1.90 m, weight 282 kg, load capacity 725 kg and a sail area of 15 m² (spinnaker 17 m²). The Ludic falls into CE design category C for nine people, has a pivoting centreboard and has no engine.
