The new model utilises modern technology, whilst remaining true to its core mission: to build a boat that allows a couple to cruise safely through rough seas, even in the most challenging conditions.
Key improvements include twin engines for greater safety and reliability, a redesigned hull for better manoeuvrability and efficiency thanks to optimisation using Computational Fluid Dynamics, modern materials for greater strength and reduced noise, increased fuel capacity (an increase of more than 30 per cent), the integration of lithium-ion batteries and proportional control of the bow thrusters. Standard features now include a large washing machine/tumble dryer, air conditioning, diesel heating and stabilisers, catering to the needs of a younger target group and those living on board full-time.
The exterior design departs from the iconic Portuguese bridge style in order to maximise the interior space and align with the contemporary aesthetic of Nordhavn, whilst retaining the recognisable features of the brand identity.
The 46 II is built at the South Coast shipyard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and comes fully equipped; all that remains is to add a dinghy and a watermaker. This ensures a smoother and faster construction process, resulting in a more competitive price.
