The fibreglass hull is fitted with floats tapering in diameter from 55 to 40 centimetres, distributed across six air chambers. The deck is self-draining and features eight storage compartments. The console is positioned amidships, with unobstructed access to the foredeck and an open aft deck where fishing is possible.
The propulsion system consists of a single petrol outboard engine with an L-shaft. The yard specifies a maximum of 130 hp and recommends 80 hp for normal use. The fuel tank holds 110 litres.
The unladen weight is 600 kilograms, the CE design category is C, and the boat remains trailable when inflated.
The Barracuda 580 shares the same hull as the Coaster 580 Plus but features a layout tailored to fishing, with rod holders and a lower maximum passenger capacity.
