The cockpit can be adapted to the weather. Removable fabric side panels and glass side panels with opening windows allow the cockpit to be enclosed or open as desired. At the helm there is an open, spacious feel. The roomy cabin is easily accessible and has a toilet.
The yard's photos also show rails fore and aft, a roof package with a solar panel, anchoring arrangements at the bow and stern, a galley and air conditioning. The helm features, among other things, a chart plotter, VHF radio and audio system; the exact standard equipment is determined in the configurator.
The hull has four steps and a deep V and is built from glass fibre with carbon using vacuum sandwich infusion. There are two propulsion concepts: three Mercury 500R outboard engines, each with a supercharged 4.6-litre V8, or two inboard D-Max 445 diesel engines. With the diesels, the yard quotes approximately 2.5 litres per nautical mile at 40 knots.
The X12 Explorer measures 12.45 m overall with outboard engines and 12.25 m with inboard engines. The beam is 3.60 m with the tubes inflated and 2.75 m deflated, the draught to the propellers 0.90 m and the air draft 2.30 m. Displacement minimum 3800 kg, 1000 litres of fuel, 80 litres of water. Category B.
