Swedish blue-water yachts, built on the island of Orust.
Najad was founded in 1967 by the sailors Berndt Arvidsson and Thorwald Karlsson. In 1971, the first yacht was launched: a 34-footer designed by Olle Enderlein. Since then, the yard has been building comfortable, seaworthy cruising yachts on Orust, an island with a shipbuilding tradition dating back to the twelfth century.
Following several changes of ownership, Najad has been an independent company again since 2022, separate from its sister brand Arcona. The yachts are built in Henån, where Najad also has a service and storage yard. The current models, with either a centre or aft cockpit, are designed to be sailed by two people.
