The boat is designed for sailors looking for a modern 30-footer that can be used on the mudflats and lakes as well as at sea, with a layout suitable for holidays with six people on board.
The hull is 9.27 metres long and has a beam of 3.28 metres. The yard offers two keel options: a fixed keel with a draught of 1.65 metres and a retractable T-keel with a draught of between 0.80 and 1.80 metres. The weight ranges from 2,950 to 3,500 kilograms, with a ballast of 750 kilograms for the retractable keel and 900 to 1,200 kilograms for the fixed keel. There are six berths below deck.
For propulsion, there is a choice between a 15 hp saildrive and a 15 hp outboard engine. The sail plan consists of a square-topped mainsail measuring 25,00 square metres with a self-tacking jib of 21.50 square metres, or a standard version measuring 22.90 and 18.30 square metres. For downwind courses, there is a gennaker measuring 69.00 or 75.00 square metres.
The S 30 is certified to CE design categories C and B.
