On deck, the twin-wheel steering stands out, replacing the tiller in the Bellissima. An integrated bowsprit extends the bow for flying a gennaker, and the cockpit is finished in teak. The boat thus combines a sporty deck layout with a refined appearance.
Below deck there are two cabins, a bathroom and a saloon with seating area, galley and chart table. Lockers and storage compartments are partly made of removable fabric, a choice that balances comfort for cruising with low weight for racing.
Hull and deck are built in sandwich construction with biaxial and unidirectional glass fibre, aimed at low weight and high stiffness. The design is by Matteo Polli together with the in-house design team of Italia Yachts. The draught is 1.90 metres, optionally 2.10 metres.
Key dimensions: length overall 10.30 m, beam 3.54 m, draught 1.90 m (option 2.10 m) and approximately 70 m² of upwind sail (mainsail and jib). Downwind, a 105 m² gennaker is added. The 9.98 has two cabins and is designed for CE design category A.
