The boat is 4.00 metres long and 1.40 metres wide. The hull is constructed from epoxy composite and weighs just 33 kilograms, making the Aero one of the lightest boats in its class. The maximum crew weight is 160 kilograms. The centreboard and rudder blade are made of epoxy composite with a foam core, and all trim lines are routed to both side decks.
There is no propulsion engine; the boat is powered solely by sail. The rig is mounted on a two-piece carbon-fibre mast with a mast track and halyard, with a boom made of the same material and a centre sheet. Four sail sizes are available for the same hull: 5.2, 6.3, 7.4 and 8.9 square metres, meaning the boat can be crewed by anyone from a young sailor to a heavy adult.
