The design has been continually refined over more than twenty years.
At 6.83 m, the A683 is one of the larger boats in the A Series and is intended for those who regularly make longer trips. According to Ribeye, it has the DNA of an offshore boat: iconic, rugged and virtually indestructible. The deep-V hull with tubes and the higher recommended power make it suitable for coastal cruising with the whole family.
Design and engineering are handled by Ribeye's in-house team. The starting point is a boat that is stable when stationary, without compromising on performance. The yard emphasises high-quality materials, strict quality checks and a warranty with no small print. Ribeye also builds tenders for large superyachts.
Each boat is configured to order together with a design consultant. There are jockey seats for one to three people that also serve as watertight storage, Scot seats with Fox suspension, a folding helm seat on a stainless steel frame and an Ergo Shox helm with an adjustable seat. For this model the yard mentions the mono mast and a wide A-frame.
