At 4.52 metres, the CAT 450 is the smallest model in the catamaran range, designed for owners seeking the stability of twin hulls in a tender that fits anywhere. Despite its modest size, it can carry seven people, and thanks to the wide seating arrangement, they sit more comfortably than you might expect given the boat’s length. According to Novurania, an outboard engine of up to 70 hp propels the boat to over 54 km per hour.
The fit-out has been deliberately kept simple. Standard features include LED deck and navigation lights, EVA foam flooring, yacht-quality stainless steel cleats and handrails, a battery charger with a recessed deck socket, and a removable 56-litre aluminium fuel tank. The latter makes refuelling and winterising straightforward, even when the boat is stored in a garage or on a swim platform.
The hull is constructed from vacuum-moulded laminated fibreglass with tubes made from Novurania Hypalon-Neoprene. The unladen weight is 590 kilos and the overall height is 1.28 metres, meaning the CAT 450 can also be fitted onto smaller yachts. Seven seats on a boat of this length mean that you can also use the tender when there are more guests on board than is usual for a standard tender of this size.
