About this boat
The N71 is a modern response to the demand for medium-sized sailing yachts designed for long voyages. Nordhavn has designed this yacht for owners who appreciate the aesthetics and engineering of larger Nordhavn models, but prefer to sail without a permanent crew.

Even before the yacht was launched, three hulls had already been reserved by former owners of Nordhavn models 68 or 60, which points to strong market demand.
The design offers two layout options: a three-cabin layout with a skylounge, or a four-cabin layout in which the skylounge has been replaced. The hull was developed using Nordhavn’s own Computational Fluid Dynamics programme and built at the Ta Shing yard in Taiwan, where the 68 and 76 models are also built.
The vessel benefits from the experience gained with the entire Nordhavn product range. Project manager Justin Zumwalt, who led the N64/68 and N72/76 programmes for sixteen years, has incorporated the most successful elements from those models into the design of the 71. Improvements include an optimised layout, more extensive lighting schemes, larger dining areas, a spacious owner’s cabin and larger windows. The boat complies with CE certification standards for use on the open sea and is suitable for transatlantic crossings.
The specification includes a furniture allowance that allows buyers to make their own interior design choices, such as chairs, dining tables and cushions, resulting in a highly personalised yacht rather than a boat that’s mass-produced.
