It is compact and manoeuvrable enough for exploring and, according to the yard, cuts through swell calmly and confidently.
On deck the emphasis is on a generous cockpit where you can easily entertain guests, with a teak deck for relaxing. For the main deck there is a layout with a beach club and a version with sunbeds on the beach club. This creates an extra area by the water for sunbathing and swimming.
Below deck the Targa 40 offers a forward double cabin and a midship double cabin, together providing four to five berths. There is also a dining area, a bathroom and a galley with a window. According to Fairline, the interior is well finished and suited to short trips and weekends on the water.
The boat runs on two Volvo Penta diesel engines with sterndrives. With two D6-340 engines, 680 hp combined, the yard quotes around 28 knots; with two D6-380 engines, 760 hp combined, around 33 knots. The Targa 40 was designed in Britain and is built in Oundle.
