The Dragonfly 40 is Quorning Boats’ flagship model and the largest folding trimaran in the range. The boat is certified to CE design category A and is designed for sailors who wish to cover long distances across open water with their family or a permanent crew.

The central hull measures 12.40 m, with a waterline length of 11.50m. When afloat, the boat is 8.40 m wide; when folded, it is 4.00m wide; when folded, the overall length is 14.17m. The centreboard provides a draught of 0.70m when raised and 2.20m when lowered. The interior is finished in elm veneer with hand-sprayed varnish.
The yard offers four variants: Touring, Ultimate, C Ultimate and C Performance. The first two have a kerb weight of 5,900 kg, whilst the two C versions, which incorporate more carbon fibre in their construction, weigh 5,000 kg. A Yanmar engine producing 40 hp (29.4 kW) comes as standard, with an optional 57 hp (41.9 kW) version available. The fuel tank holds 150 litres, the water tank 220 litres and the holding tank 75 litres.
The carbon mast ranges from 17.50 m on the Touring to 20.50 m on the C Performance; the mast height above water is 18.80 m to 22.30 m. The mainsail measures 65 to 83 m², the furling genoa 33 to 44 m² and the gennaker 110 to 150 m². The Touring and Ultimate models can fly a spinnaker.
The boat is unsinkable. It is certified as Category A for six people and Category B for eight people.
