The First 53 is a successful blend of classic and modern lines, with a straight, slender bow that offers plenty of space at the front and a maximum beam of 5 metres that extends far towards the stern. The exterior is characterised by a continuous deck, a low superstructure and a sleek, modern appearance, whilst the interior combines moulded wood with a polished finish with white-lacquered bulkheads and a teak floor, creating a contemporary yet refined atmosphere.
The boat has been designed to provide a lively feel at the helm: the centre of buoyancy is aligned with the centre of force of the sails, for optimum sailing pleasure, whilst twin rudders ensure precise control over the responsive hull. The cabin is functionally laid out with a lounge area and a separate dining area, whilst the cockpit is designed to allow easy movement between the helms, facilitating both competitive sailing and comfortable cruising. Two years of development have resulted in a boat for discerning owners seeking speed, luxury and exhilarating sailing performance.
