That’s ocean-going class, which is remarkable for a vessel of this size. The steel displacement hull is 4.50 metres wide and has a draught of just 1.15 metres. Aquanaut has been building this model since 2016.
That shallow draught is its defining feature. Whilst ocean-going yachts usually have a deep draught, the 1350 allows you to explore shallow coastal waters and inland waterways as well. You are not buying a compromise between two worlds, but a boat that has been deliberately built for both. Below deck there are two cabins and two bathrooms, with space for four people.
The Volvo D4 delivers 225 hp, which is plenty of power for a boat of this length. The 2,000-litre fuel tank is also noteworthy: that’s more than on several larger Aquanauts, and it underlines what this model is designed for. With 800 litres of water on board, the crew remains well supplied even on longer voyages.
