The steel hull is a true displacement hull and the draught is limited to 1.05 metres, which makes for pleasant cruising on inland waters. Aquanaut has built this model in Sneek since 2009 and gave it CE category B, so you can also head for the coast and the Wadden Sea.
The abbreviation ‘AK’ stands for ‘aft cabin’, and this determines the layout. Behind the cockpit is a separate cabin, providing space for two cabins with a total of four berths and a bathroom. Compared to the open cockpit version, you sacrifice some cockpit space but gain a second, lockable sleeping area in return. This makes this model suitable for longer trips with two couples on board.
The engine is a 110 hp Volvo D3, more than ample for the leisurely cruising speed for which a displacement yacht is designed. The 500-litre fuel tank and the 500-litre water tank give you a generous range without the need for daily refuelling. Steel construction, a shallow draught and a modest engine combine to create a package designed for comfort and range.
