About Stratos Yacht

A yard in Lelystad specialising in high-speed day cruisers made from composite and aluminium.

Stratos Yacht is based on Vaartweg in Lelystad and was founded by Bas Lengers, who previously spent forty years at the helm of the yachting company Lengers Yachts. The brand unveiled the Dutch Built 50 at the end of 2022; that first yacht was launched in December 2023. The design is by Bernd Weel, whilst the hydraulic engineering was carried out by Jeroen van der Knaap, co-founder of Sea Level. Production manager Erwin Rodewijk previously worked at Lengers Yachts for ten years. The yard deliberately keeps the number of boats built each year small and, in its own words, builds to superyacht standards.

There are two models. The Dutch Built 50 measures 15.06 by 4.45 metres and has a fibreglass sandwich hull with vinyl ester resin and a carbon fibre superstructure; it comes fitted as standard with two Volvo Penta D6 IPS650 engines, with the D8 IPS800 available as an option, and has a top speed of thirty-six knots. The larger Dutch Built 75 is 23.76 metres long, is built from aluminium and is fitted with Volvo Penta IPS1200 or IPS1350 engines, capable of 35 knots. Both are open day cruisers with below-deck cabins and the highest CE Class A rating, designed for owners who cruise themselves on the open water and along the coast.
