Fast French sailing boats with planing hulls from Brittany.
Pogo Structures is a French yard that was founded in Quimper in 1987 and moved to Combrit Sainte-Marine in Brittany in 1990. Its founder is Christian Bouroullec. The company employs over ninety skilled craftspeople on a site covering almost seven thousand square metres. The name was made through racing yachts for solo sailors, in the Mini 6.50 and Class40 classes, with the Pogo 2 winning the Transat 6.50 in 1999 and the Pogo 3 going on to dominate the Mini class. The yard has been using vacuum infusion since 2004 and developed a folding keel made of composite material with lead.
The range comprises the Pogo 30, 36, 44 and 50, with the Pogo 33 being the latest model. The Pogo 44 measures 13.55 metres overall, with a hull length of 12.80 metres and a beam of 4.50 metres, featuring a keel that drops from 1.38 to 3.10 metres and a 50 hp saildrive. In addition, the yard builds the Pogo RC racing yacht and, under the name Loxo, its own range of sailing and motor boats, including the Loxo and ‘30 Open’. The boats are designed for sailors who want to sail fast and far with a small crew.
