The Bali Catsmart is the compact entry-level model in the range, described by the yard as a 38-foot Open Space catamaran. It was designed by Olivier Poncin, with naval architecture by Xavier Fay and interiors by PIATON BERCO. Construction takes place at the CATANA yard. Despite its modest size, it features the familiar Bali design elements, including a fixed foredeck instead of a trampoline.
The hulls measure 11.31 metres, the beam is 6.45 metres and the unladen weight remains below nine tonnes. The standard propulsion system comprises two 20 hp engines, with an optional configuration of two 30 hp engines, fuelled by 400 litres of diesel. The two 55-litre black water tanks make it clear that this model is also suitable for longer voyages and in more challenging sailing conditions.
The CE certification is valid for eight people in category A and ten in category B, with sixteen and twenty people in the coastal categories. This makes the Catsmart a logical choice if you are considering a catamaran for the first time or are deliberately choosing a boat that is easier to manoeuvre in harbours and sailing areas.
