Full description
The vessel is 16.80 metres long overall, 4.80 metres wide and has a draught of just 0.82 metres. This shallow draught is due to the pod propulsion system and makes the vessel suitable for use in shallow bays. The hull and superstructure are made entirely of composite material with an AIREX core; the vessel weighs 21 tonnes.
The propulsion system consists of two Volvo IPS 800 units running on diesel. The top speed is 35 knots and the cruising speed is 30 knots, with a range of 280 nautical miles.
The tanks hold 2,150 litres of fuel, 500 litres of drinking water, 117 litres of waste water and 77 litres of grey water. Below deck are cabins with fixed beds and a seating area.
The Alen is classified as CE design category B with a capacity of sixteen people on board. That is a high number for a boat of this length and is in keeping with its design as a day boat for larger groups.
