American sports boats and cruisers since 1959.
Sea Ray was founded in 1959 in Detroit, where C.N. Ray, together with fibreglass specialist Jerry Michalak and business partner Arch Mehaffey, took over the assets of Carr Craft. The yard grew to become a major manufacturer of fibreglass sports boats, with factories in Vonore, Tennessee, and Merritt Island, Florida. Sea Ray has been part of the Brunswick Corporation since 1986.
The current range spans approximately 19 to 40 feet and is divided into four series. SPX stands for compact bowriders and runabouts, SDX for more spacious day boats, SLX for sporty models with a luxury finish, and Sundancer for cabin sports cruisers. The brand is sold through dealers in over eighty countries.
