Swedish fibreglass dayboats from Ryd, under Norwegian ownership since 2024.
Ryds builds fibreglass motor boats in the small town of Ryd in southern Sweden. The company dates back to 1946 and has been manufacturing pleasure craft since 1968. The boats are designed for Scandinavian conditions, with plenty of freeboard and hulls which, according to the yard, maintain good performance even at low fuel consumption. All models are laminated using vacuum infusion, which results in a denser and lighter laminate. Following a bankruptcy, the Norwegian family-run company Cormate took over the brand in early 2024, with production remaining in Ryd.
The range extends from the 3.98-metre open rowing boat 398 to the 735VI, which is just over seven metres long and is available with either an outboard engine or an inboard engine. In between are console boats and fishing boats such as the 484VI, the 486 BF and the 538 BF; bowriders such as the 490VI Sport and the 550VI Sport; and day cruisers and walkarounds in the 550VI, 630VI and 650VI ranges. The boats are designed for day trips and weekend use on coastal waters and large lakes, with engine power ratings of up to well over 200 hp.
