MasterCraft

Built by a water-skier, for anyone who wants to get out on the water.

MasterCraft was founded in 1968 by Rob Shirley, a water-ski instructor who ran his own ski school in Florida. The company started out in a simple shed in Maryville, Tennessee. The very first boat made its debut at the US National Water Ski Championships.

Since 1994, the company’s head office has been based in Vonore, Tennessee. The current range extends from the ProStar, a classic direct-drive ski boat, to the wakeboard and wakesurf boats in the X, XT, NXT and XStar series. Since 2026, Chaparral, Robalo, Crest and Balise have also been part of the same group.
