What is a Marrekrite mooring?

Marrekrite is the recreation board of the Frisian municipalities and the province. It maintains hundreds of moorings on the Frisian lakes and canals: jetties, sheet piling and buoys in the countryside, without a harbour master and without facilities. Mooring is free, for up to three days.

The rules in brief

No more than three days in the same place
Do not leave the boat unattended (a walk or bike ride is fine)
Do not moor in the reeds
Approach slowly: no wash
No open fires; dogs on a lead
Waste in the Marrekrite containers, not on the bank
