Sailing catamarans with a sheltered cockpit for long crossings.
Seawind was founded in Sydney in 1982 by Richard Ward and began by building small beach catamarans. The yard subsequently shifted its focus to sailing catamarans designed for long-distance cruising. In 2010, Seawind acquired the trimaran builder Corsair Marine. Production is now based in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, with a branch in Izmir, Turkey, having been established in 2024 to serve the European market.
The current range spans from approximately 38 to 53 feet and comprises the 1160 Resort, 1160XL, 1170, 1270, 1370 and 1600. Key features include dual helms with all-round visibility, a protected cockpit that flows seamlessly into the saloon, and RCD Category A certification, intended for ocean-going voyages.
