BRP personal watercraft with Rotax engines, from Spark to Explorer Pro.
Sea-Doo is the personal watercraft range from BRP, the Canadian company headquartered in Valcourt, in the province of Quebec. BRP dates back to 1937, has been an independent company since 2003 and employs nearly 17,000 people worldwide, with a distribution network spanning over 100 countries. The company has been manufacturing personal watercraft under the Sea-Doo brand since the late 1980s. A key feature is that the engines are manufactured in-house by BRP’s Rotax division, and that Sea-Doo was the first to introduce a braking and reverse system on water. In the Benelux, BRP handles sales itself through its own dealer network.
The range is divided into six groups. ‘Rec Lite’ comprises the light-Spark and the Spark Trixx; ‘Recreation’ comprises the GTI and GTI SE; and ‘Touring’ comprises the GTX, the GTX Limited and the Explorer Pro, which is designed for longer trips. In addition, there are the performance models GTR, GTR-X, RXT-X and RXP-X, the Wake Pro for towing sports and the FishPro Sport for fishing. The hulls range from approximately 2.8 to 3.7 metres, with Rotax jet propulsion ranging from 60 hp in the Spark to 325 hp in the top-of-the-range models. With this range, Sea-Doo caters to beginners, cruising enthusiasts and anglers alike.
