Lightweight blue-water catamarans that prefer sailing to motoring.
Outremer has been building sailing catamarans in La Grande-Motte on the French Mediterranean coast since 1983. The yard specialises in blue-water sailing: catamarans with which owners can cross oceans and live on board for years at a time. Lightweight construction is key, with sleek hulls that maintain their speed even in light winds and can be sailed by a small crew.
Outremer is part of the Large Yachting Grand. The current fleet comprises the following models: 45, 4X, 48, 52, 57 and 64. A defining feature is the emphasis on sailing performance over maximum interior space, and the feedback from sailing owners, which is incorporated into each subsequent design. Hybrid propulsion with power generation whilst under sail is one of the options.
