Charming power sloops and tenders, since 1996.
Menken Maritiem was founded in 1996 by Bernard Menken, with an office in Wassenaar and a boathouse in Ter Aar. As labour costs in Western Europe rose, he chose to continue building labour-intensive boats with his Sri Lankan partner, Neil Fernando. The boats are built in Negombo, Sri Lanka, and finalised in the Netherlands.
The range is extensive and distinctly classical in style. Menken’s range includes, amongst others, The CAB, the Fast CAB and the CAB XL, the Newport Bass, the Flyer 33, the Henley 28, the Hudson, the Riffler and the Piet Hein sloep. The designs are by Martin de Jager, who gives the brand its distinctive styling.
