About Lomac
An Italian family-run business specialising in RIBs, from tenders to maxi-RIBs.
Lomac Nautica is an Italian family-run business that started out making inflatable boats near Milan in the early 1960s. The brand name comes from its founder, Lo Manto Calogero; the company is now run by the third generation of the Lo Manto family and is registered in San Donato Milanese. In the 1980s, Lomac switched to a fibreglass hull beneath the tubes, a move that gave the brand its current character. Since 2008, designer Federico Fiorentino has been responsible for the styling. A distinctive feature is that virtually every series is given its own hull shape rather than sharing a mould, even for models of the same length.
The range spans from approximately 2 to 14 metres. At the lower end are the Tender models, designed as tenders for larger vessels; above these are the Euforia range of wide-entry boats and the Big Game series for sport fishermen. The Turismo is the day cruiser, the Adrenalina the sporty range and the GranTurismo the maxi-RIB with a cabin, with the 14.0X as its flagship. The largest hulls are built using vacuum infusion and aramid fibre. Propulsion is provided by one or more outboard engines, and on some Adrenalina models designated ‘SD’, by a sterndrive. The boats serve both as a primary vessel and as a tender for a yacht.
