About Jeanneau
Authentic Experiences, Pure Happiness.
Jeanneau was founded in 1957 by Henri Jeanneau in Les Herbiers, France. What began as a small wooden outboard engine boat, built by a shopkeeper with a passion for speed, grew to become one of the world’s leading yacht builders.
From 1960 onwards, Jeanneau switched to using polyester and fibreglass for the construction of motor boats, and the first sailing yacht followed in 1964. The yard made a name for itself with model ranges such as the Sun Odyssey and Sun Fast (sailing yachts) and the Merry Fisher, Leader and NC (motor boats).
In 1995, Jeanneau was acquired by the Beneteau Group, thereby becoming part of the world’s largest sailing yacht group. Lagoon catamarans are also built under the Jeanneau Advanced Technologies banner.
