About Boston Whaler

The unsinkable legend, on the water since 1958.

Boston Whaler began in Massachusetts in 1958, when Richard "Dick" Fisher sold the first boats under that name. Together with naval architect C. Raymond Hunt, Fisher developed a cathedral hull and filled it with what was then a new material, polyurethane foam. The result was a boat that stays afloat, even when swamped or sawn in two. The slogan "the unsinkable legend" became the yard's trademark.

After owners such as CML Group, Reebok and Meridian Sports, Boston Whaler came into the hands of the American company Brunswick in 1996, of which it is still part. The boats are built in Edgewater, Florida. The current range consists of outboard boats: the compact Super Sport and Montauk, the Dauntless centre consoles, the Vantage dual consoles, the Outrage offshore centre consoles, the Realm with cabin and the Conquest cabin boats with hardtop. The latest development is the stepped WhalerStep hull, which debuted in 2026 on the 290 and 330 Outrage.
